my mothers parents died when she was 8. but l think she had family who emigrated to Canada her name was Catherine oŽKane , she was born in Glasgow 1907 but her mother was born in Iona 1870 family name mac Cormack any links

If you have an idea on first as well as last names, you can check the 1901 and 1911 Census at http://automatedgenealogy.com/index.html

Just to let you know, the 1911 Census is not yet complete, but is updated every day. If you do find family, the census will show what year they immigrated to Canada.

Unfortunately, without more information on family names ages etc., it is almost impossible to pinpoint where in Canada they could have gone.
