Royal West Kent Regiment - George Stoneham
« on: Tuesday 19 September 06 16:51 BST (UK) »
I wonder if anyone can help.  My grandfather served in the WW1, and was injured I believe in Ypres, Mons or the Somme (I was told the story many, many years ago by different members of the family, each time with a slightly different version).  He lost a leg and was therefore discharged before the war ended.  I think he may have served with the Royal West Kent Regiment as I have found on a website called documentsonline@nationalarchives.gov.uk - a Medal Reg.No. 15619 - G/S60727 belonging to a George Stoneham but am not sure if this is my grandfather.  Any suggestions on how I could find out if this is him and more importantly where and when he was injured.

Many thanks
Marilyn
