Hi Meliora

Its 1851 and the reference is Class: HO107; Piece: 1558; Folio: 330; Page: 9; I have that page but that is all and the only other address on there is also Moss Alley. Thanks.

Hi Anthony,
Have a look at this site
in particular the section
B363, p169 Bear Gardens, Rose Alley, Hamors Court, Park Street, Moss Alley.

I was in London last week and stayed in Sumner Street, there are a lot of large buildings now on this site now. It is situated near to the Tate Modern art Gallery.

Patricia

That is incredible there is even a hand drawn plan of Moss Alley there, lots to read as well, funnily enough I was down there last week as well at a function at Vinopolis under the railway arches but didnt know the Moss Alley address then.

Thanks very much

It's only about 4-5 minutes walk from Vinopolis.
It's maddening isn't it. I found out information on the St Olaves Infirmary on my last day. Too late to visit the Southwark Archive Centre in Borough High Street. Oh well next year perhaps. ???

Looking around at lunchtime today I found this http://www.motco.com/map/81005/SeriesSearchPlatesFulla.asp?mode=query&title=Moss%27s+Alley&artist=388&other=697&x=11&y=11 which shows Moss Alley on a 1792 map and I reckon from this its about where the railway is now, almost alongside the river about midway between Southwark Bridge and London Bridge.
