John McRae, a farmer,(colins father)
Colin died in 1882 aged 75 in
Dempster St, Pultneytown, Wick.  His marriage to Christine Taylor has
him
listed as "fisherman in Boathaven" in 1840.
Ref 43/5 1840 December 2nd - Colin McRae, fisherman in
Boathaven was . to Christine Taylor in Pultneytown - Murdoch McKenzie
fisherman in Boathaven cautioner for the man and John Taylor, mason in
Louisburgh for the woman" 

Colin McRae's mother was Mary McKenzie

1871 Census at Dempster St, born Assynt, age 64, fisherman, with wife Christian age 60 born Wick and sister in law Helen Taylor, unmarried age 57.
