Moxham death 2005
« on: Wednesday 27 September 06 11:55 BST (UK) »
I've just received some information that a relative of mine, surname Moxham (he might be called William or Ernest, but I'm not sure), died somewhere in the US last year aged 104. Could someone with access to the US records look up him, please? He was born in Preston, Lancashire c1901. He is my great great great uncle. Thanks.

ssdi.rootsweb.com doesn't show him up.

There IS a Ernest Barrowcliff Moxham b. Mar 1900 Preston, who appears to be on the 1930 census, Allegheny (index only:)

Ernest B. Moxham, 1900
Roseanne, b. about 1900
Eileen B, b. about 1923

Interesting enough, the SSDI shows this:
Rose A. Moxham, b.18 Jul 1899, d.  29 Aug 2004 , last residence McKeesport, Allegheny, PA

Could this be who they were referring to? Not your great-great-great uncle, but his wife?  There can't be that many people by the name of Moxham about who died aged over 100.

Her death notice Aug 30 2004 in the McKeesport Daily Times (online) merely says:
ROSE ANN MOXHAM  - Rose Ann Moxham, 105, of Greenock, died Aug. 29.

http://www.monval.com/memorials/eliz_twp/greenock.html - Eileen Moxham served in WWII.
http://www.familytreetracer.com/PeaceLuthCem.htm - you might try contacting this cemetery or the Elizabeth Township Historical Society mentioned.

Thanks for the information. I've recieved a PM with some of this information already mentioned, but you've given me some more information as well, so thanks for looking them up.

If Eileen is buried in a Lutheran cemetery, would she have had to be Lutheran or did they have sections for non-Lutheran Christians?
