Kirsty,

You need to reread this thread. You seem to be missing this. James was born Wilkins also. There is no other possible James it can be. The James provided here and in the other thread is the one with Eliza Jane in 1901 census.  He was the son of Stephen Blewet WILKINS and Jane CARNE...........Kris  ;)

Hi ... yep im a bit puzzled you say that James came from Stephen and Jane Carne ,... But as far back as we have got so far........

is Stephen Blewett Wilkins his father was Richard Blewett , his father was Stephen Blewett married to Jane Grenfell his father was Stephen Blewett and with Jane Pascoe ..

Im so sorry if i dont seem to be grasping this but am completly confused maybe i can explain everything in an e mail or PM and go from there

thanks for your patience

Ok. The problem appears to be an overload of Stephen Blewett's and Stephen Blewett Wilkins. As you say, re Eliza Jane's hubby Stephen He was the son of Richard and Elizabeth Jane Grenfell. Richard was the Son of Stephen BLEWETT and Jane Richards, (No Wilkins at baptism on 31 Dec 1897. ) and Stephen was the Son of Stephen and Jane Pascoe.

Go back to Davids Chart here

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,182118.60.html

David has well outlined Eliza Janes Hubby Stephens Line as you can see. For the purpose off the exercise forget about him for now and look at the other side of the chart.

Now look at where he has Hubby James and Parents Stephen and Jane Unknown. Hope you are with me. Well by records on the Paul site I gave you we now know that James was in fact born James Blewett WILKINS the son of Stephen Blewett WILKINS and Jane CARNE so you can add that to that chart. Jane Unknown is Jane CARNE and James was born James  Blewett WILKINS. Now James Father Stephen Blewett WILKINS Was baptised 11 Aug 1811 in Paul the son of John Wilkins and Joan. This is on the IGI along with siblings of this Stephen.

Hope that has explained it. You have two  separate lines which both were at one stage WILKINS and at this stage we have not connected the lines.............Kris  ;)

Brilliant .. right i think with you ... so your saying that our James was related to Elizas first husband Stephen .. and that somwhere along the line BOTH sets of family dropped WILKINS from their name ??

have i got that right ?

(if so is there a way we can find out james siblings names?)

thankyou for being so patient

I don't know if they are related but they both come from same area and at one stage both were Blewett Wilkins. Need to try to get back further to work that out. At this stage no connection has been found between the two lines. James Siblings are in the 1851 and 1861 Census records I provided earlier in this thread and their baptisms (Or at least some of them) appear on the Paul Site along with his parents marriage. His father Stephen and siblings (Children of John and Joan/Jean) appear on the IGI............Kris  :D

Will be lovely for you to go have a look even if you don't find any headstones. Looks like there are transcripts here for Paul Churchyard but I don't see these people listed though there are a few Blewetts mentioned

http://www.paulchurch.co.uk/churchyard.htm

Sure you will have a good night logging all this info.....Kris  ;)
