Did you search Swinford Registers?
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

From the DNA matches, I'm pretty sure that my G Grandfather Charles was born to Anthony Maughan and Honor Loftus in 1861-62, probably in Cloona (Kilfean parish) like his supposed siblings.

Assuming then, that there is no hard evidence for this, how can I put a % likelihood on it from my DNA matches?
I've got four known 4th cousin matches to people descended though different lines from Anthony & Honor

The DNA aspect is another question entirely. You would need to ask opinions of people who understand and can explain it. You would be better to start a new topic.
I've been looking into Loftus in Kilmoremoy on my own account this week, in search of an elusive baptism; it was the right year and the parents first names matched, but my person of interest married there 40 years later when I know he was somewhere else so I've eliminated him.

Loftus Web www.loftusweb.com
Miscellany includes a forum.
One of my Loftus great-aunts is among IGI extracts on the website.

Forgot to say that Loftus Web has a post from a descendant of a Loftus from Swinford . I don't know how active the site is, I hadn't looked at it for a while. When I first found it I turned up a few interesting bits by rummaging.
