Goss. and Winton Daley were my mother's uncles. There mother was  Laura Emily Rose/Daley
married Thomas Daley 20-8-1878 at "Euroulie" Nsw.

That sounds about right!

My Great Aunt met Goss when he was stationed in Devonshire, UK, before he was sent out to the front-line in France, about a year before he was killed. They corresponded for that year until he died. She also corresponded for a while with his sister after his death.

I think that they might have had a future together if he had survived, and she never married. I inherited the photograph,  postcards and letters received from Goss and then his sister after her death as an elderly lady. She had kept them all.

When you have enough postings on rootschat, send me a personal message with your e-mail address etc and then I can send you images of the correspondence. I don't expect that  her correspondence to him survived, although I know from the letters that some things were returned to his sister following his death.

I have researched a lot of his family tree as I feel a great affection for him and his family. On Armistice Day in November, I always think of Goss and have put a Poppy by his photograph on occasions.

My Grandmother's name was Peggy Daley and her father was Patrick Daley, and they lived in Moree.  I have just started researching the Daley family.

Patrick Daley was my gg grandfather. married Mary Ann Coleman 1839.

I grew up in the Moree area, descended from Matthew Joseph who married Clara Ellen Rose 1878.
both buried in Moree cemetery.

I am researching a great grandfather and his lineage. His name is Edward George Daley from Moree and his birth year was 1883 - he died in 1951. He married my great grandmother Hannah Martin Paterson in 1938.

   Welcome to rootschat 

   I see that Edward George DALEY's parents at his birth in Moree in 1883 were George and Mary.
(and this corresponds with his death entry which gives his parents as George and Mary).

   I can see a death for a George DALEY in 1906 in Moree with parents Charles and Ann.   There is also a probate packet for a George DALEY who died in 1906. https://www.records.nsw.gov.au/item/1759128

  I can photograph this for you next time I am at the archives if you think it is relevant.  A probate packet *should* contain a death certificate, a will, full names and locations of heirs and details of property etc.

  Do you have any more information to help us to help you with your search?
