I guess because Fitty called it a Top - mmmm - have to ask my husband - he's the botanist - but its 1am in my world & not being addicted to rootschat he's asleep. Hopefully Fitty will answer this query because I don't seem to know if I'm the tree root or the tree top.

If I view my ancestral tree from the bottom upwards JOSEPH JOWETT, born around 1750/60, possibly in Leeds appears at the top.

Alternatively I can look at a tree of descendants of JOSEPH JOWETT, born around 1750/60, possibly in Leeds - and he is still at the top!

The end result is that I am looking for JOSEPH JOWETT, born around 1750/60, possibly in Leeds and if someone knows which brick wall he is hiding behind, please, please, please tell me!

JillJ - according to my theory he is in a root which has burrowed below the wall.

Jan - I read that with a puzzled frown and then I read Trish's posting and had to  ;) at that sly humour. What you really mean is it like the Queen of Hearts in Alice "It Means What I Say I does" [or words to that effect]. Now, JillJ confused me even more - not too hard at my age - with all that stuff about when it is up it is down and when it is down it is up  :-X :-X :-X {fitty wants me to shut up].

Hackstaple,

Next time I go to Leeds I shall make sure I have a 14 lb. hammer and a spade with me!
