The grave inscription is in great condition. Very legible.
The family were likely "Well to do" to be able to afford such a large gravestone.

I think the Vittery family may have been okay for money too. There is a road in Brixham called Vittery Close.

I photographed that tomb about 10 years ago. The France family originally came from Lancashire, moved to Dublin then Waterford. Nathaniel France the surgeon ended up in Plymouth as he was a Naval Surgeon, and then his son NT went to sea, and then his grandson NC to sea after that.

I have the family tree already, but thank you for that comment. I lived in Brixham for a while. And Plymouth for that matter.

married 1820 Ann only daughter of John Vittery ship owner then had 11 children.
