Searching parish records pre 1800
« on: Thursday 11 November 04 12:02 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I've traced one side of my family back to the late 1700s in Knowestone by finding my ggg grandfathers 1809 baptism on the IGI.

So what do I need to do now?

I've seen some books of marriage and burial records for sale on the Deveon FHS site - but these don't go back very far and baptisms aren'y available for Knowestone - though I'll probably buy what is available anyway.

Do I need to go to the record office in Exeter, or is there a site i can search or CD-Rom (or other) that I can order?
Devon: Chapple, Snow
Cork: Ford
Gloucestershire: Pilling, Brice, Cook, Kirby, Phipps, Lacey, Lines

Can I suggest that you place your query on the Devon FHS site.  It is free to access.  The people who contribute are very helpful and if they do not know themselves they often know a site that can.
