Walker family of Workington
« on: Thursday 02 November 06 15:57 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to trace my family tree back beyond 1851 - my great great grandparents were a William and Selena Walker (both born in Yorkshire in 1851) who after marrying, moved to Dronfield in Derbyshire. From 1878 to 1883 they had 4 children - William (born 1878); George Richard (born 1880); Elizabeth (born 1881) and Beatrice (born 1883) - in 1883/84 William and Selena moved to Workington in Cumberland and from 1885 to 1894 they raised another 4 children - Minnie (born 1885); Walter (born 1887); Albert (born 1890) and Herbert (born 1894).

During the 1901 census, all of the Walker family, together with William Walker's mother (Elizabeth Walker born 1823 in Yorkshire) and a lodger (Fred Cudby from Derbyshire) were living in the Workington residence.

Apologies for the long winded nature of this message but I'm looking for any information on the children of William and Selena Walker namely, did they stay in Cumberland/did they marry/did they have any children etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
