WILLIAMS
« on: Sunday 05 November 06 05:28 GMT (UK) »
Hello all,

Yes, its a brick wall... but I was wondering if anyone might possibly connect to:

WILLIAMS, St. George in the East/Tower Hamlets/Mile End

Main first name passed down is Henry.  More info available for anyone who might think they're connected.

Thanks,
Nancy

Hi Nancy and welcome to Rootschat

As you know Williams is a very common name, and pretty common in the areas you mention (a quick look at the 1851 census for St George in the East shows almost 300 Williams individuals alone) and the areas themselves cover a rather large section of east London.

I would therefore provide details of one or a few of the specific Williams individuals you are interested in so as to enhance the possibility of someone else detecting a possible connection.

You might also want to look at the Your Surname Interests which you'll find at the bottom of each webpage.

Good luck with your research
