Mary - thank you for a quick posting  :D :D

I hope someone can help, as these lines have been a blank for me for quite a while. My only possible lead on the Robert FOULKES (father of Samuel) is a Robert FOULKES in 1851 census, Northop : age 67, butcher, unmarried, born Northop.

I don't know if anyone can find this Robert for me in any other census, or if the possible butcher connection helps?

Best wishes

Hello, I have some details that have been passed on to me from a descendent of Mary Foulkes and  Frances Evans,

Familysearch (alternates Ff and Foulkes)

Robert Foulkes and Catherine Roberts parents of Samuel Foulkes below
Only llgc marriage for Robert Foulkes / Catherine Roberts is 1819
too late?

3.7.1808 Samuel Foulkes born Northop, Flint

1808  Mary Evans (born  Bryn y Bal, Mold, christened 7.5.1808 Argoed, Flint

18.4.1830 Samuel Foulkes married Mary Evans Holywell flint. Child = Margaret Foulkes

1851 census Main street, Northop

Robert Foulkes  lodger  67   born Northop   butcher (gives status as unmarried?) in Williams household   -  not sure connected at all.

Familysearch:
Margaret Foulkes born 1841 Mold, Flint married 16.5.1863 Christchurch, Pontblyddyn, Flint to Francis Evans (born approx1838 Whitford, Flint

Pontblyddyn church records
Marriage 16.5.1863  Francis Evans (age 23, labourer, Tai Bowen, father Edward Evans farmer) to Margaret Foulkes (age 20, Tai Bowen, father Samuel Foulkes labourer)  Implies Francis born 1839/40, Margaret born 1842/43

Both Francis’ family and Margaret’s family lived at Tai Bowen – presumably how they met

17.2.1886 Mary Foulkes buried Pontblydydn, Flint). - familysearch

Freebmd  -  Samuel Foulkes died 4thq 1897  11b/168 Holywell age 89  (age ties in with census age above)

I  have more census records for this family , can I email them to you directly, it will be easier. Which child of Samuel and Mary and you from.

Have a look at this first, I hope it helps a bit.

MARY A.
You found the Foulkes in 1841 at Tai Bowen. From the tithe maps dated 1837 I know there were at least  two other occupiers there then.
Robert Bellis and David Evans.
It would be very nice to have their details, especially David Evans and his family, if there was one.
Thanks again.

Thanks, it seems  then that David Evans may have died,
interesting to see  Ann Bowen , that area is known as Tai Bowen,
I have actually found the place that the Foulkes lived, it is still there as it was marked on the tithe map, a thatched roofed cottage on the road from Mold to Wrexham, just before Pontblyddyn Church. ;)
