Hi Jenn

No probs mate - I will post something up just before it is time for me to go and get the details  . I have just found that my gguncle is buried in France as well so I am going to try and get there to take some pics so I can show my grandpa. I will prob put up a post for that one as well while I am there.

I think I will try and get my brother to order the certificate from home and see what I can find.

Its getting really cold over here - snow is on it's way!

It is often an emotional experience reading those digitised war records.  I don't have anyone of my own  [not yet discovered at least] but I always find it moving even when I am not connected

Hi All

I got my brother back home in Oz to get the marriage certificate for Thomas William Casey and Catherine Donoughoe. I haven't seen it yet but he has passed on some info off of it for me.

Thomas William Casey (born Balbriggen (?) Dublin, Ireland)
Catherine Donoughoe (born in Gouldburn, NSW) - I have had a look for this birth but cannot find it!

Parents of Thomas - John Casey (residing in Gympie QLD) and Alice (or Alise) Rigney
Parens of Catherine - Michael Donoughoe (residing in Gympie) and Ellen Clifford

So I am guessing that Thomas emigrated over with his parents when he was younger (?) but I cannot find ANY records of this. Would it be possible to get some help looking at the parents deaths for me please?? I might be able to get a death cert which will tell me how long they were in the country for.

It is so frustrating that I dont have the info here!! Going off of Catherine's age at death she should of been born about 1859?? But I will get the info from my bro and post it tomorrow.

here  is  another  birth  that  might be  yours

note  the first  name  is  mary  but  her  middle  name  might be catherine  and  she was  allways  called  that,  How  often  have  we  all  seen  that

my  own  darlin' mum  thought  her  name  was  Margaret Alma unitll  she  had  to  get  her  birth  certificate later  in  life  and  boy  was  she  upset at  finding  out  her  fist  name  was Alma (thats  why  none  of  us  kids  got  middle  names  as  she  hated  hers  which  turned  out  to  be  her first  name  )

Just to show how long it takes to get the info even with todays modern technology!! My brother looked at the marriage cert and it states that their ages are 26 and 20. Which doesn't really match up with the deaths that we found earler in this conversation! Sometimes it is so difficult!

I hope you all are having a VERY Merry Christmas!!

Of course I had to have a question on Christmas Day! I have just found that my Thomas William Casey was a policeman in QLD. Are there records of some kind that I could look up to find more info on this??

Also I have found that my Irwin (or Irving) Sydney Crow was a hotelkeeper. Does anyone have any suggestions how I might be able to find out the hotel??
