Look up Reguest Thomas B Jones 1888-1889

I  am looking for info for my Grandfather Thomas Benjamin Jones.1888-1889  He was born in Swansea but spent a great deal of time in Hereford. His father's name was Thomas and He was a manager in a Tin Plate works.
I cannot seem to find either men anywhere.
I hope that someone can help me.

Funeral of the late Mr T.B Jones Dentist
The funeral of  T.B Jones of Clyde house , Edgar Street Hereford whose Sudden death at Gloucester was reported last week in the Hereford Times.
The chief mourners were:- Messrs Brindley, Donald and Dennis Jones ( sons): Messrs J. I Jones ( brothers); Mr J Edgar ( brother in law) and Mr A Edgar.
The late Mr Jones appeared to be in is usual health but had a stroke and died shortly afterwards. He was 44 years old( his death said 46 years old and he died in 1933 which means he was born in 1887, although a native of Swansea he spent most of his life in Hereford, He leaves a widow, one daughter and fours sons. Mr Jones served in the Great War. in which he suffered the loss of one leg and the partial loss of another.
I thought his might help I really need help with this one.

THOMAS BENJAMIN Jones

We have very few Absent Voters Lists, but luckily we have got one for
1919. In the List I found Thomas Benjamin Jones your Grandfather. His
address was 11a High Street Hereford which was a Dental Surgery. His
service number was 33059 and he was a Private in  the Kings Shropshire
Light Infantry and he was discharged  around April 1919. I then looked
in the Kelly's Directory where I found he had resumed his work as an
Artificial Teeth Fitter and remained at 11a High Street Hereford  until
1929 when he moved to 22 Edgar Street Hereford. The last reference to
him I could find was in 1934 where he was still in practice as a
Dentist.

Can anyone find him on the 1891 or 1901 census ?

Was J EDGAR his wife's brother or his sister's husband

Have you searched the 1901 census http://www.1901census.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ for any Thomas JONES with the occupation tin* and then looked to see if any of them had a son Thomas bc1888

When/where did he marry - are there any clues ie. address/witnesses on the certificate

If he was a dentist, have you tried educational records?

Is there any further information on a gravestone if one survives?

The 1st World War service records are searchable online here: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk.
There are two Thomas Benjamin Jones, one b 11/2/1898 and the other 26/12/1891 in Galway, so neither look good, but he may be there under Thomas Jones.

I have tried all the threads that you have suggested. The people in his obit were his brothers
 Messrs J. I Jones ( brothers); Mr J Edgar ( brother in law) and Mr A Edgar.
His marriage Mary 1914 Hereford  showed that he was living in 1 Portland street at the time. The witnesses were Ernest James White, Arthur Ellis Whitehood, Mary Anne Griffifitts. His father Thomas shows deceased ( manager of A Tin Plate works) this is all the info I have of him. I have also searched the Army medals, but their are many Jones, Thomas so not sure where to begin.

A possibliity perhaps of Thomas senior before marriage ?
On 1881 census

Thomas Jones [son] aged 20 at Loughar, Llanelli, a tin plate box..., son of Benjamin and Mary Jones born St Mary Glamorgan.

Siblings were called James, John, Esther, William, Matilda

Is Thomas Benjamin named afer his father and gradnfather I wonder ?

Thanks for info. On his wedding cert, it gives fathers name
Tomas ( manager Tin plate works) this is the only info given except in the obit which says a native of Swansea. As all the parties are dead I am going by the info that I find or is sent to me, each time I learn something.
Sorry but do you mean the 1881 Wales Census or UK and Wales, I have both, using A.
Again thanks for your help in this, at leas the boys were found hopefully I should get the birth certs in a week or so as they have to come to the US.
