Royal Marines WW2
« on: Wednesday 15 November 06 14:26 GMT (UK) »
My father served in the Royal Marines from 1942 to 1945.  I have just discovered his service record, and find that he was awarded a war chevron and some other unspecified medals or awards.  Apparently he never claimed or received these, and I would now like to get hold of them for the family.

Can anyone please advise where I can find out more details and apply for the awards?

Hallo Gillg,

Google 'Unclaimed WWII medals' and you should find the information you're lookin for.

Hi, Bervonian

Looks as though I shall have to take a short bus ride up the road - the address given on the Veterans Website for claiming medals is within a few miles of my home!  Thanks very much.
