William Watters

I am researching William Watters for a genealogy friend in Georgia.

William was born in Llanfair PG on 15th October 1735 and emigrated to the USA. What I am hoping to find is the name of his parents and any other relavent details to take the research further in Wales, as my friend hasn't done any yet and doesn't know where to start as she only has the DOB.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi Bev

As you may be aware, there are several entries for William on the IGI - all member submissions providing much the same information. One of them names his father as Richard Watters, born 1696 in St Botoph, Essex, England.

Whether any of this information is reliable is anyone's guess. Frankly, I would advise your friend to start her research from scratch. I personally would not make any assumptions.
