« on: Saturday 25 November 06 08:56 GMT (UK) »
Could I have a look-up, please, of the 1901 census in Essex (probably Colchester) for Susannah Last, born 1844 in Alderton, Suffolk.
Many thanks.
Godden in East Sussex, mainly Hastings area.
Richards in Lea, Gloucestershire, then London.
Williamson in Leith, Vickers in Nottingham.
Webb in Bildeston and Colchester.
Wesbroom in Kirby le Soken.
Ellington in Harwich.
Park, Palmer, Segar and Peartree in Kersey.

Hello suttontrust  :)

71 Castle Road, Colchester, Essex
RG13/1710/39/30
George LAST   Head   M   73   Tailor   Worker (at home)   Soryth (?) Essex
Susannah LAST   Wife   M   57            Suffolk, Alderton

I can't make out the name of George's birthplace.  It looks like "Soryth" or "S'Oryth" to me, but it's written with the placename first and the county second, unlike places on the rest of the page.  YOu may know already where he's from...at least I hope so!  ;)

Cheers
Prue
