what  would  you  expect  to  find  on a  birth certificate for tassie from  that  time

rubina  mason  has had a child  prior to the wedding poor wee thing  lasted only a  few weeks  would  it  have  any  of  her details  much at all

Hi Jenn,

There was a mistake made with Rubina when she died,Charles was down as her

father when in fact he was the husband, rellies have always been aware of this

mistake, I am surprised that  rellies in Victoria have never had it amended.

I think the marriage certificate will be the way to go....will have to give it a shot.

A cousin has told me there are no parents signatures on either marriage certificate

Sadly, it was not compulsory to have parents on marriage certificates in Tasmania until 1896, so they may not be there

I spent a week in the Tas archives a couple of years ago & was a little disappointed with their earlier certificates - although some may well have all the above details - sadly mine didn't
