Cremation Registers
« on: Thursday 07 December 06 09:55 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
It crossed my mind yesterday that the above registers
must be available at crematoria,am I right,as cremations in most places only took place at the very end of the 1800,s  it should be a place to search when one can't find a burial.Has anyone any imput?

Regards

Joburg.

Most Crematorium records are held by the same relevant local authority in the England & Wales, who hold burial records.....don't know about other countries.

Hi

I don't know about other crematoriums - but  at mid Warwickshire crematorium they keep not only the records of the cremations but the registers for the two cemetries for Leamington and Warwick.

The added bonus of this crem is that the staff are very helpful and will allow you o visit and view the registers.
