Hi! I'm new to this forum but maybe we can help each other.
I'm searching my husbands family..Le Patourel... and his great grandfather - Joseph Eli Le Patourel (b/a 1894) was married to a Isabel Alexander Florence May Le Gallez. Unfortunately Joseph was illegitimate. I was wondering do you have any other info on them?

Simone.

I think my grandfather was one of Isabel's sons. I'm not sure if he was Joseph's son as I believe she was married more than once, but I thought she gave all her kids her maiden name. My dad believe's that we should be Le Patourel, but we're Le Gallez because of this. My grand father was Stanley, my father Stephen James. My grandmother is still alive and may be able to shed some light?

Hi All,

I am new to the forum but am researching the Le Gallez family as part of my ancestry...

*Please note this information is a little vague as I haven't updated this resource for some time. The jpeg file attached has more accurate lineage information (hopefully you can read it).

Le GALLEZ      Esther

b. abt 1813      Guernsey, Channel Islands

d. 8/4/1875      Prospect, South Australia

m. approx. 1833      Guernsey, Channel Islands.

EDWARDS      George
*Became a cordwainer, i.e. a cutter of leather   uppers – a shoe maker

b. 15/1/1814      Parish of Charles, Plymouth,         Devonshire, England

d. 23/4/1872      Adelaide, South Australia

*George and Esther arrived in South Australia,   on the sailing ship Moffat on 19/12/1839.

My Le Gallez line also contains the following families: Queripal, Herival and Gore and all seem to be from Guernsey...

Before I go trolling through Census records and alike - does anyone have any information on these families? If you are part of these families I can provide you with information regarding their descendants in South Australia :)

Thanks

George Edwards and Esther Le Gallez would be my 4th great grandparents.
So I'm another south Australian product of the same family.
I'd appreciate any information you have so I can compare notes. The family tree is only a recent hobby for me, my uncle has oodles of information however he is taking pleasure watching my frustration.
Cheers.

We are new to this site as we have just started to do my husbands family.
He is 5th generation, through George Edwards & Esther’s daughter Zibbiah Elizabeth who married George Nikkelson. We have just today stood in their footsteps in Cannum & Aubrey districts Victoria.
Any information from the Le Gallez family would be appreciated.

I can help with Mornington and Isobel maybe. Mornington seems to be a family name and I have found one or two. My Gandfather Reginald le Gallez had a brother Archibald Hillary. His eldest son was Mornington. As for Isobel I have a grand daughter with that name. I will look in my family tree for anther entry. GeoffleG
