New release by National Archives
« on: Tuesday 16 November 04 17:02 GMT (UK) »
I hope this is of general interest to all Rootschatters.

The National Archives have today released  around 600 hundred archive prison photos of children ages 10-17 dates 1872-1873 along with a brief discription of the inmate and reason for inprisonment  in Wandsworth.

These poor children  were locked away for various deeds such as stealing rabbits  and figs and found themselves doing hard labour for their crimes.

Fitzgerald/Mullane/Riordan/Heaphy/Barrett, O'Brien, Doneraile area
McCormack/ Brophy/Egan/Gavin,  Tullamore area
