I know this enquiry is a few years old but I have now found the mysterious player. His name was William Lloyd and he played for Wednesday around 1909

William Lloyd was born in South Hylton (Sunderland) he signed from Jarrow in Aug 1906 and then signed for Rotherham in Jun 1913. Made 85 appearances and scored 6 in total.
