Newall/Newell or Newhall St Johns District Manchester
« on: Wednesday 17 November 04 12:54 GMT (UK) »
I have Samuel Newhall on the 1861 Census in Manchester aged 52 and living with wife Jane (nee Greenwood) and children Mary A and Sarah J.  The family are living at 4 Thornton's Court and are hawkers by occupation.  A couple of doors away also live son Richard and his wife Mary (Lolley) and children. I found an IGI at Manchester Cathedral, where all these Newhall, Newell, Newalls seem to be married or christened - a christening 4 Mar 1810 giving Samuel Newell's parents as William and Mary.  I think this may be William who married Mary Moors at Manchester Cathedral 14 Jun 1792.  I'd love to find some proof of these links

Can anyone find this family on the 1851 or earlier census?  Or does anyone have links to this family
