LESTER/REDDIT Marriage c1800
« on: Saturday 16 December 06 17:37 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I've been trying to sort this one out for ages and wonder if anyone can help though it's rather a longshot!

Basically I'm trying to find the marriage of William Lester/Lister and Charlotte Reddit I would imagine about 1800-1810?

I have this couple on the 1851 census:

Wetheringsett cum Brockford
WILLIAM LISTER age 71 born Wortham Suffolk
CHARLOTTE LISTER age 75 born  Garboldisham Norfolk (I think).

My direct descendent was their daughter Jemima b. Mellis 1805

I have this baptismal record of one of their children:
born 3 Jun 1813, baptised 7 Jun 1813, Rebecca daughter of William Lister & Charlotte Reddit, of Wetheringsett, occupation Husbandman, ceremony performed by Samuel Salmon.

I have quite a bit about William and Charlotte and their family (other census entries as well as deaths and burials seemingly the family lived in Wetheringsett for most of their later lives) but not their marriage.

I also have not found the baptism for Charlotte Reddit but will post that later on the Norfolk board.

Any help appreciated.

Regards
Biker

hi Biker

I looked at Wetheringsett marriages from 1800 to 1821, but no sign of them there (or had you already looked there?, I wasn't sure).

Sorry I couldn't be more help

Anne

Hello Anne

Thanks for looking at those PRs for me, much appreciated.

I haven't looked at this partciular family for some times, apart from the IGI etc without success.

Will have to rethink this perhaps ...

Thanks again
