Hi Guys
Starting to piece things together now.  Williams' first wife (Janet)and 2 children stayed in Scotland.( His sons' name was Peter and is daughters' name was Catherine) Your info is correct as I have been in contact with another lady searching the same family.
William actually came to OZ on the "William Jardine".  The other William who came out also as convict on the "Ramilles" is not related, so we can omit him. ( His wife and 2 children joined him in Oz.)
Thanks Heaps for your help
Liz

Liz

Just one point of caution with the background details I sourced from google.

There is a marriage on IGI for a William Morrision and Grizel McNab, an actual extract from the OPRs:

WILLIAM MORRISON  Marriages: Spouse: GRIZEL MACNAB
Marriage:  01 MAY 1792  Perth, Perth, Scotland

I cannot however see any children showing for them on IGI.

There is another couple, and this is where I think some of the info may have gone slightly astray, called William Morrison and Grizel KING who were having children around the same time in Perth. The reference to the birth in 1793 in Crieff for a Peter Morrision (father to your William) is in fact showing the mother with the surname KING:

PETER MORISON     Christening:  12 MAY 1793  Crieff, Perth, Scotland
Parents: Father: WILLIAM MORISON  Mother: GRISSEL KING

There are nine children in total showing for this couple.

Have a wonderful Christmas with your nearest and dearest  :)

Regards.

Monica

Hi Liz,

hope your well I am back from the UK now hope we catch up soon, have been reading over the Morrison stuff here,  I have new info on Peter and Anne, also I know one of your entries here4 is probably more than 4 years old, but our william did not arrive on the William Jardine, ours is most definately the one that arrived on the Ramillies, my boxes arriving trhis week, so as soon as Im able to get mygenealogy together we can hopefully get together and photocopy and compare.

I have just found in the 1881 census  Jannet Morrison aged 53 born Kenmore perthshire  staying Kenmore perthsire down as married but no husband in census
staying with her brother James MC GIBBON
is it the wife he left behind????????????
