Mary Kirwin (or Kirwan )county carlow
« on: Thursday 28 December 06 12:26 GMT (UK) »
Mary Kirwin came to Australia in 1850 on the ship "Maria" as a 15 year old. Her parents, Timothy and I think Martha, were deceased. She had been a farm servant in County Carlow, and was listed as C of R ; church of Rome or Roman Catholic.Unfortunately we don't know any more of her history in Ireland ( we know a great deal about her life in New South Wales - she is my great great grandmother.)I am hoping she had some brothers who had sons , who had sons, etc., and maybe I have some fourth cousins. My fingers and toes are crossed for good luck.  maryk

i have a mary kirwan in my family tree.  she was born mary nolan in sleaty, carlow.  she married a paddy kirwan who came from tullow i believe - so you could try there.  they lived in america and have quite a few descendants there.  good luck.  anna
