"Mark All As Read" feature?
« on: Friday 29 December 06 16:56 GMT (UK) »
I joined RootsChat about a week ago. (Where have you been all my genealogical life?) All the messages are marked as "New", except the minuscule percentage that I've read. Even messages that are several years old are marked "New."

I see there is a link for "Show unread posts since last visit", and I've been using that. However, some message readers like Outlook Express have a "Mark All As Read" option, which turns off the highlighting for new messages. Messages that come in after invoking it are once again marked as "New."

I don't see an option for this at RootsChat. If there is one, please let me know where it is. Thanks.

Very Good idea.

Hi Mike,

To answer your question there is not an option to "Mark all as Read", so anything you have not read will be new to you.

What I do is to select the notify button on the counties that are of most interest to me to make sure I don't miss out on any new ones. I then get an email notification to tell me which ones I have to read.

Hope this helps  ;)

Sarah -

Thanks for the information about the NOTIFY button. I wasn't aware of this feature. Will try and use in the future.

Much appreciated.
