Hi Grant, I don't know how much access you have to the Evening Chronicle but I am looking for an article in the ? personal ads from 1980's. My uncle Edward 'Teddy' Whitfield had died and his brother Billy was trying to find my mother Catherine McGarry nee Whitfield to sort out his will. I think it was around 1985-87. Are these types of things available online or does one have to visit the archives? Cass

Hello Cass
Copies of the Evening Chronicle are kept on microfilm at the Newcastle City Library Local and Family History which is at the moment in the Exhibition Hall at Newcastle Civic Centre. You would need to have a good idea of when your notice was published as in the 1985/87 period I think each film only covers 1 month so working through 3 years would take a long time
