I am tracing my Brown relatives who in 1881 & 1891 lived in the Isle of Man.

On the 1901 WALES census RG13/5300/50/2... Samuel Brown b 1859 Scotland was living at 1, Railway Cottages in the civil parish of Ballaugh in the County/Island of Anglesey. Reg District Isle of Man..Sub-Reg District Isle of Man.

How can you have a Reg District of Isle of Man in Anglesy Wales?

Is Railway Cottages in Anglesey or the Isle of Man?

Please help with my confusion

Ballaugh is definitely on the Isle of Man!

I think your census provider must have got a little muddled!

If you look at the enumerator's walk you get further clues and the census form is definitely printed 1901 census for the Isle of Man.

Very odd!

I get confused enough without Ancestory doing it for me.  LOL  Well at least I know I am back to Isle of Man.

Hallo Gail,
I have found Samuel Brown (24)on the 1881 Isle of Man Census, living at Lhergydhoo 2 Cottage, and working as a Railway Surfaceman.
Married to Sarah(22)  with a daughter Mary.
RG11/5596/92

Couldn't find him on the 1901 Isle of Man, but  on the Wales 1901 Census as you said.   Looked at the original which says Isle of Man, Parish of Ballaugh, so someone has put it on to the wrong census.

I did have the 1891 info but got totally confused on the 1901...mind you that doesn't take much now.. getting confused that is, when I know another birthday is looming. LOL
