Anti-aircraft battery in Newcastle-u-Tyne WW1

I've just discovered that my great-uncle served in the Royal Garrison Artillery from 1916-demob in 1919 with the 19th anti-aircraft battery.  Can anyone point me to information about the battery?  Can find nothing on Google. Was Newcastle ever attacked in WW1?
