How far back do you go on the MERSH family ??

I am looking for a MARSH family early 1700's.
Mersh is often a corruption of MARSH

The only Mersh or Marsh i have Joseph Mersh b 13 apr 1741, Mottisfont, Hampshire, M. Ann ? abt 1770 and Died 30 Dec 1828, in Broughton, Hampshire. Joe and Ann had a daughter named Lonona she married Benjamin Pike. also Joe's father was named john, i am sorry this is the only info i have. maybe our trees are connected. also i have found tons of mersh and marsh living in or around Leckford, & Charbolton Hampshire if you like the site here it is. this is a great site and there are mersh's there if you look hard enough.

This is my Marsh trail I am investigating

Bridger MARSH b.abt 1706 (Christening: 30 JAN 1706 Edburton, Sussex, England )- married Elizabeth MAJOR 07 JUN 1731 Saint Marys, Portsea, Hampshire, England and they then moved to Newtimber sometime before 1734.

Not even sure at the moment if he is one of ours, but he might just be the father of our Bridger Marsh who pops up getting married in Lamberhurst.

Thought you MARSH/MERSH researchers may be interested in a Convict, Harriet MARSH (wife of Richard) b. 1793 Hampshire transported to Australia -

Harriett, a housemaid, aged 27, was previously  married to Richard Marsh. Transported on 'Lord Wellington' 1821

Posible maiden name - HANSFORD

She was sentenced to 7 years Portesmouth [sic] Assizes in company with Mary Miller, a 20 year old servant.

It is possible that she and Richard had a son, also called Richard who was left behind.

George & Frances had the following baptised:-

George was a tailor

Charles & Elizabeth had the following baptised. Charles was a hoopmaker
