Would anyone know if Dublin was ever called or referred to as Duberland?

Hi Renee,

The Irish for Dublin is Baile Átha Cliath (Translation - The Town of the Ford of the Hurdles). The medieval city near the black pool - Dubhlinn - was of Norse origin. I wonder if your Duberland is a misspelling caused by the hearing of the correct pronunciation of the old name of Ireland's capital City.

I doubt that the word Duberland originated in Ireland, at one time the Land of Saints and Scholars. More than likely it was concocted by one of the rough ignorant invaders to this fair land also known at one time as Erin's Green Isle  8)
