I feel really stupid.
A couple of nights ago I was fiddling around with the 1881 census on familysearch and free bmd. Now, it was very late and I was very tired. I found a couple of familiar family names, listed as living together. I was pleased and thought I'd hit a minor jackpot as I don't know much about this family yet.
I thought, although the ages didn't fit with anyone specific I'm looking for, the family names, especially together, certainly were of interest. I thought, "Better print that out". Then I thought, "No, the printer noise might wake up the family - I can easily find them tomorrow and print it out then". Can't be too hard, only a few entires for the particular name had come up.
WRONG! Disaster! Now I can't find them!
I've spent hours trying to find these families today. As I said, I was sleepy and can't even remember the name of the person I entered in the search. Perhaps I typed a name in error and accidentally found these families? Well, what an idiot!
So, my question is this: Is there a way to search for two surnames who were living at the same address?
Even stupider, the thing is, I'm pretty sure I found them on the familysearch 1881 census, but it just MAY have been 1891 or 1881 freecen.
And even more stupidly I can't remember the name of the head of household - think I'm losing my mind! Perhaps it was a dream! I WAS dozing in my chair!
Anyhow the surnames I found are Bird and Griffiths - they were in the same household in Liverpool. Possible given names I searched were George, Thomas and Mary Jane and possibly any combination thereof. I might have entered the wrong forename with the wrong surname.
Unless I WAS dreaming I think the Griffiths were from Wales (Wrexham?). I remember thinking, "Just as I suspected"!
I must have looked through hundreds and hundreds of names today, and I AM beginning to think it was a dream or that I am going mad!
How can I ever find them?
