Here they are in 1881 - they do get around as do their ages !

Remember that young Mary Ann was born in Plumstead 2 years later - altho on reflection, the 1901 entry had Essex crossed out, so maybe it WAS STANSTED ?

I wonder if he was a military man - might explain the Royal Hospital in 1891 ?

Well, no George of the right age in 1841 ( a 15 year old in the Union Workhouse), and at least 2 Fuller families in the same area we saw him in 1851 - 'Brox'

However, here's that Humphries family ... the 3 year old George could be a Frewin, bit unclear

Wonder where George and (Maria) Annie married early 1870s ...

Gertrudes BCert would give a hopefully less common name for Mrs Fuller's Maiden to search on in the Index ....

Gertrude had no children.

oh

If 'your' Gerty had no children, then the children of Stuart/Fuller and Heslam/Fuller marriages I found prove nothing - other than probably that the marriage you found in 1911 that started this whole thread off was not of 'your' Gerty at all.

Unless of course the child died young and was never referred to by the family. If it is only family hearsay that 'gertrude had no children' then I would tread with caution and not take as correct unless proved.

ANd that is always the best way to proceed, never 'assume' anything, and never move on until each event you find is backed up from as many different sources as possible!

I must admit I have got a bit lost on this one now(not difficult!) as to what are ACTUAL facts about your gerty and her family. Maybe taking a step back and summarising what you know for sure and have backed up with certs, censuses etc would help sort the wood from the trees, or the cherstsy gertys from the Chelsea gertys, or the Heslams from the Stuarts!!!

thats why I went back from the confirmed 1901 sighting - and left the questions about Gertrude's descendants for Jenny.

Thanks
I know it is the right Gertrude born in Chelsea [1901] because from the census it lists her brother and sisters.  These I recognise from the postcards my grandmother wrote and received.
