I think you have!

I must admit your reply took me completely by surprise (a very nice surprise!) as I haven't really been doing much towards my family history lately and I didn't expect to receive any further replies to my posts from last year - how wrong I was!

That's got to be the family (even though the places of birth of Francis & Sarah are different to those given in 1871) as the details for James and the ages for Francis & Sarah all tie in with info from later census returns etc.

It also looks as if James' older brother was the William who married Margaret and his sister was the Harriet who was left in charge of the family in 1861.

Anyway, thanks again for your reply - it's definitely whetted my appetite for another attempt at finding out more about my ancestors.
