hadfield town is that area comprising new st, elton st and pond st on the southern side of markham road , chesterfield. probably named after the hadfield family that were local butchers and supplied the town with at least one mayor.my mother was born and raised in the "pond houses " and an aunt lived in "hadfield town " until her death.

My late grandmother lived at the bottom of Park Road. She always said the area used to be known as Hadfield Town. New Street runs along the bottom and Elton at up the back of the terraces

I do know that the area around New st Park Rd Chesterfield was at one time called Hadfield Town because a chap called Hadfield had a lot of business businesses around that area. You could try ringing Local Studies at Chesterfield library.
