hi Jean,
I know by your posts that we are related. I descend from William Bulloch and Margaret Lapslie married 1640. My Grandmother was Jeannie Bulloch 1869 married John Blackwood Mcfadyen.
Please get back to me.

Hi Phil,
Thanks for your note.
No Phil, I am only back to his Grandfather.
His Father was William born 1837, where? probably Paisley, married to Primrose Stewart, in Paisley. His Grandfather was John Mcfadyen born ca. 1813, where? married to Jean Beaton? could be Beath? not sure as it is very difficult to read.
John Blackwood Mcfadyen died in Motherwell ca. 1929.
I read am article in Motherwell Times he was a professional Opera Singer. His stage name was John Blackwood. My aunt Harried McFadyen McLeod was a concert Pianist in Motherwell.
I would love any news you have,

John Blackwood McFadyen died 1929 in Dalziel parish

He married Jeanie Bulloch 1896 in Dalziel parish

He was born 1867 in Blantyre

All of these records will confirm his parents names

Thanks for that info.
The problem Elizabeth has is with John's father William, he married Primrose Stewart 22 June 1863, Blantyre, but Primrose is back with her mother by the 1871 census, and married again 1884.
Unsure of Williams birth date and place,

Regards,
Phil McF

P.S. My William McFadyen born 1825 paisley died 1860

1863 marriage record will confirm the name of William's parents and if they were still living. This should allow you to check census records for William with his parents and establish his place of birth

Thanks Phil,
I have the marriage of William and Primrose, I just can't read the name of William's Mother.
I think they probably came from Paisley.
I am on Ancestry and will have a look for your William.
I have done all that you suggest, to no avail.
Thank you again,
Elizabeth Mcfadyen Robbins, Canada
