Albert William Yates

Albert William Yates, born about 1874, father William James, mother Sarah, nee Inksip, NSW.

The problem I have is that I can identify two families in NSW at this time, with parents William and Sarah, but neither one shows a son Albert William.

James Comet Yates (1882-1912), for who we have a memorial card, may have been a brother, or possibly cousin. Died at Drummoyne.

Sarah was remarried in 1899 to Rowland Jones, and was living in Sydney in 1914.

Albert William Yates came to New Zealand in 1907, only known member of the family to have moved here.

I can't see any Albert William in NSW or Vic, but there is a John Albert with parents Wm & Sarah b 1874 reg #  21337/1874

There's also an Ethel Eclipse Yates reg # 5479/1880, dau of Wm J & Sarah Yates, who looks like a good candidate for John Comet's sister!  Was Wm an astronomer??

It's beginning to look as though he changed his name when he left Australia.

Wonder if he was hiding from someone? The secrets our ancestors try to keep from us!

so  really  doesnt  give  you  much  more

It really is quite helpful, as I was unsure about his father's death, and had no idea on his birthplace.

Much of the other info from the Indexes I have already, but can't quite separate the different families.
