Looking for information about Patrick Galvin born Ireland about 1843  left to go to New Zealand and married Mary Ann Samson, died Wellington NZ 6.01.1926 and also James Galvin, possible a brother born in Westmeath 15.08.1955 and died in Wellington NZ 30.04.1908.

What denomination was Patrick Galvin?

You'll have to rely on Church records as civil registration in Ireland was not introduced until 1864. Non Catholic marriages were registered from 1845 onwards. When registration for BDMS started in 1864 some people didn't bother with the registration for a few years after that date. Keep your fingers crossed that church records still exist.

Thanks for the reply.  Unfortuntely I do not know where he married which possibly could have been in Australia or New Zealand.  He would have been a strict Catholic I am sure.
