Hello again Wendy,
Sorry, no other info. Re those pass. lists referred to in my PM to you, this family found on the PROV (Public Records Office of Victoria)
1907 Vessel "Geelong" Port (B), British, arriving Oct 1907.
Mr and Mrs Hartley, children Miss CN, age 13, Miss DM age 17 and Miss JE age 16. (she's listed as Miss EJ on other lists)
NOTE: Just found out "ancestorsabroad" dates are now up to 1909. Had a look and found same listing but girls ages were hugely different. Depending which one is right, could make huge difference to search.
If ages on PROV are correct, then two of three girls born before marriage of 6th July 1893. Who were they??? Nieces of George?? Have all info on his siblings and their family. No matching initials. Hence looking for parents. Got other info of Free BDM.
Believe this (1907 trip) to be my Hartley family because Clara's father dying as result of surgery earlier in the year. She was the only daughter. Cannot believe she would not have come home under circumstances. Only listing for Hartley's arriving in OZ at this time.
One other listing for same family Vessel "Scharnhorst" dep Hamburg 1914, arr Oz in the May. Escaping war??
DaP found vessel for me and provided German links, but no useful info available.
One listing 1920 for two of the three girls arr in Oz from British port and one listing 1911 for a Clara and Martha Hartley, also dep from British port.
George had sister Martha, but ages are wrong to be her. Could be transcription error. Can't get in to PROV to check. Will ask one of the locals to investigate next trip.
Sorry Wendy, i'm not sure if you can work with that, but it's all I have at the moment.
Many thanks
Sadieh
