Hi Philamena,
my name is Robert Passfield and I believe that several of the names that
were mentioned in the replies you received relate to parts of my family tree.
I would love to be able to compare notes with you.
Robert (Bob)

It's been a while since I last looked at all this , having moved on to other areas.  However, if you can tell me where you think we cross over , I will get my paperwork out and have a look.  Isn't it interesting.

Please check out George Passfield and John Passfield who's wife was Sarah. I believe her surname was Sache. If that is true then they had three children, Sarah, Frederick and John.
I do find it all very interesting finding all of these different names that married into the Passfield line.
The tree I have in my posession was created in rough form by my Father Len and one of his brothers.
Out of interest I am 65 and the tree goes back as far as 1800 so far.

Yes, my husband is related to John & Sarah Passfield. I think Sarah was Sach without an e , but these things get changed anyway.  Their 7th child (I think) is James. He is my husbands great grandfather.  He married Emily.  We are all Passfields too.  I haven't really gone down George's route as I was looking for James line.  To be honest I only got as far back as John and Sarah's births and then got sidetracked on other research.  I think I found all their children thou - think there were 11. My husband is 59 so you are the same generation.

Thanks for that information. I didn't know that John and Sarah had 11 children
( no telly in those days...lol) that's more research for me to do. However it's nice to find another branch of the Passfield family.
Bye for now.

I have just remembered that there was a lady called Brenda King who was interested in George's descent.  She wrote to me in 2007 and we discovered that her George was the same as ours.  George was the eldest child of John and Sarah Passfield - he married Mary Ann Dains.  If interested I will try and find her letter.  I have my reply to her on my PC, but would have kept her letter somewhere.  There was a Frederick (who went to Ockendon) , also a John and a Sarah in the family.

I only have three children (now four) for John and Sarah. They are:- Sarah born1865, Frederick, my great-grandfather, born 1867 and john born 1872.
This is getting exciting!
I would love contact details for Brenda king if possible. Thank you.

There were a few different branches of the Passfield family around the same area and unfortunately they sometimes had same names.  I expect they were related way back, but I feel quite confident that I found the right ones.  But I can be corrected if you think I have someone wrong in this branch.  It is difficult to be sure sometimes.
But here are John and Sarah' children as I think they are -
George b. about 1852 not precise with these 2
Ann b. about 1852       "        "        "       "       "
John b. 1855
Alfred b. 1856
Julia b. 1858
Sarah b. 1860.
Our James b. 1862
Susan b. 1864
Alice b.1866
Frederick b. 1868
Martha b. 1870.

I got this info from Census mainly.  Frederick married Eliza and had 5 children,
Annie, Alfred, Frederick,Mabel and Ethel.
Do you see your family in this?

From my tree. Frederick, my great grandfather married Eliza Dorling in Margaretting Parish Church 26-4-1890. They had 6 children, Frederick, my grandfather, Alfred, Annie, Ethel, Mabel and Elsie.
This looks as though it is getting really interesting if a bit confusing...lol
