Hi you lovely folk on this site,
After voting in the poll "not yet" Thanks to JACKIE G I have now been in contact with my cousin Philip in Tasmania! This is a milestone for me as he is the last of the first cousin's I was trying to find. So that is a circle now complete!
After 30yrs of searching it shows that "patience" does have a way of paying off! So never give up all of you out there!!
Now it's on to 2nd cousin's. I haven't got another 30yrs left in me so wish me luck!!
Thankyou to all who have helped me in this quest!!

I think i went into shock a few weeks ago, I was contacted by a lady.Who when messing around on her computer looking for  information on her grandmothers, Greatorex family(Of which she had just started a tree for)she  came up with my parcial posting on Rootschat.  Read some mails, then contacted me to tell me we shared the same G.Grandparens. Her grandmother was my grandmothers sister,of which i already knew, because i have a photo of the whole family. Taken in the early 1900, i have now been able to send some info to give her a start doing her own research (everyone does it in there own way). I have also been able to send old photo's. In return i have recieved photo's and info i would not have had otherwise. Still cant believe it though ;D

Not found any on Rootschat yet but GR has turned up quite a few.

But I am sooo frustrated at the mo - the blooming hot match thing, which I thought was such a waste of space has come up with someone really hopeful.  She has my 2 x great grandfather and his family.  Hurrah, I dash off a contact me please and.........nothing it has been two days.

I know you lot wouldn't let me languish for two whole days without getting back to me.  Where is she  - she is possibly a relly - a Bearman one at that.  I know I should be patient, but I want to know now!

Thanks Chui  :)

Corbie, Celia - thats such good news!  :)

Siouxzie - Why do people do that? ::) I`ve contacted countless people on GR and never heard a thing. I think, maybe some people dont renew their membership and so are unable to reply - who knows! Still its only been 2 days, and, I know this is hard to believe, but there are still some folks out there who don`t devote their every waking moment to thier family history. I know, hard to imagine isn`t it!   ::) ;) ;D

Hi all

Have met quite a few third etc  cousins on GR but one even closer cousin contacted me via Rootschat after seeing an old posting of mine.

We have the same maiden name as our grandfathers were brothers, and lots of news to catch up on. Hopefully we will meet up in the summer, which will be really lovely.

I can't begin to express the delight I feel about this contact ;D ;D

Finally!  I have at least located someone who was at some point and hopefully still is researching my TRICKER line.  While it was not on Rootchat itself that I found their information, the link that gives me such hope was from a Rootschat post!!! :D  YIPPEE!  I just hope that the connection is not so old that they've changed email's twice or more :-\ or given up entirely!   It certainly is exciting at finally having at least chance to exchange information with this elusive family of mine.  Thanks you very much Rootschatters!! ;D
