Hello Moira.
I have  a William Lewis Wilson born Witney. Oxfordshire 1843. His parents were Joseph and Elizabeth Wilson, the family moved from Deddington, Oxford, circa 1854. to Darley Abbey, Derby. He is listed on the 1861 census, but after this I lose him.

Joseph was a papermaker born Wells Somerset 1815 and died Darley Abbey 1878. William's mother Elizbeth died 1882 also Darley.

Any info on William Lewis would be much appreciated.

Best

Ken

Hello..I don't mean to hi-jack Moira's thread.but i have been researching the TIVEY family for somebody else on another site..........It's a bit confusing because the Melbourne registers do not have a Francis Tivey 1811.

What it does have is (oddly..but quite common) is..

FRANCS TIVEY..born 31.10.1821 not baptised till 07.09.1831..son of William and Mary.....which might explain why you're having difficulty.
I'll look further into this.

Hello

Would it be possibel for you to look me up a baptism at the Derbyshire records office please?

I'm after the baptism onf Margaret Hope Halsall who was born in March 1915. I think she was born in Hope but could be Chapel En le Frith.

Thankyou

Hi Moira

I would also like to take up your kind offer of a look up when you can fit it in.

Jeremiah Slater married Ann Sanders 25 April 1825 at Duffield.

Any additional information from the marriage entry would be a bonus.

Thanks very much
Carol

Hey, I am also looking into the same family. I am so stuck now :(

Hi

Carol the image Of the marriage slater/sanders can be seen on family search. You have to register with your e mail address and pass word, no financial info is required.

1841 they were living in Derby, Jeremiah born abt 1805 he died prior to 1851 census. There is a Bpt 1805 South normanton Derbyshire.

Occupation on various Bpt records for his children state he was a stone mason, which matches with 1841 census.

What are you actually stuck with?
