I actually emailed Free BMD re the problem on Saturday and received this reply this morning:

Unfortunately, FreeBMD doesn't have 24/7 support, and problems cannot be cleared instantly, particularly at weekends.
We would ask all our users to be patient if a problem occurs. We will fix it as soon as humanly possible, and e-mails reporting it as a problem won't result in us being able to fix it any sooner.
