Hi Trisha

Unfortunately there's no magic formula for post 1900 marriages, no Hunts marriage index as there is for pre 1837 marriages.

If they're not on http://www.freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl which goes up to about 1910 then it's a case of ploughing through the GRO indexes quarter by quarter. These are available free of charge on
http://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx,

Lizdb explained how it's done on this board only a few days ago
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,175160.0.html

When you find a suitable entry you'll need to purchase the certificate to find the name of the wife.

Have you found them in the 1901 census? They just might have been married by then which would cut down your search.* If they were still single you need to start with the March 1901 quarter and work forwards, as FreeBMD may not yet be complete for 1901-1910

Regards

David

* They were brothers and both single in 1901, living in Chesterton

Hi Trisha
As David says there is no magic formula for post 1900 marriages, but did find this one, but it is only a guess?
Free BMD has a marriage for Charles Plowman in June 1903 Huntingdon.
On the same page are
Elizabeth Lilly
or
Minnie Whitsey

Hi Trisha,

Have you used this link?
http://www.gencircles.com/users/mbmbba/37/bysurname?Plowman

I have a very distant Aunt who married a Plowman and this gentleman has helped me a great deal. The 2 Plowmans you are looking for feature in his tree.
