Bellaghy, Castledawson and Drumlamph - Link
« on: Thursday 01 March 07 13:53 GMT (UK) »
This is a link to George McIntyre's project which is to make a historic record of the townland of Drumlamph. If you are researching a family from this area or you are able to add anything about the history of the area then George would be more than delighted to hear from you.

It might do no harm listing the name changes of some of the roads in the area ...

The 'Wee Road' has been renamed 'Drumlamph Lane'
'Moss Road' is now called 'Drumlamph Road'
'Double Corpse Wood'/'Corpse Wood' (pronounced 'Copy') is now 'Drumlamph Wood'.

Some other names including 'Cottage Farm', the 'Bog Lonnan', the 'Whinney Car Road', the 'Bull Hole Field', 'Island Burn' and 'Pimley's Brea' have almost been forgotton altogether.
