After a long fruitless search for my Grandparents burials...I have located them today!!

(Thanks to the 'London, Deaths & Burials, 1813-1980' section on Ancestry).

It looks as though both of my Grandparents are buried at St Andrews, Kingsbury, Brent, Middx, - Margaret Wilson on the 3rd February 1934, and William James Wilson on the 3rd January 1938.

Having quickly googled 'St Andrews, Kingsbury' it would seem as though there are several of them!

My Grandparents were married in a 'Church of Wales' Church in Swansea...

Would anyone on here hazard a guess as to which St Andrews might be the most likely one to approach please?

(I'm now on tenderhooks, in case there's a gravestone which mentions something about my Grandfather's mysterious origins!!)

Romilly :)

Thanks for that nanny jan.

Yes, its Anglican, & so I expect its the right one. Oh dear, the graves sound in a sad state:-(

I will try writing in the first instance I think...(although I am tempted to get on the Metropolitan Line & go & look!). I really need a grave reference first though...

Is anyone on here familiar with that graveyard?

Romilly.

Romilly.

I went to school near there, and still have a friend living in the area who does his own family history  ;).

Let me know if you find a grave number or location.

Romilly I do hope you come online soon- my friend often runs through there( he's in training for the London Marathon) and is going that way today.

He will ask for you and take pics if there's a gravestone.

PM me if there's anything else you want.

Having said that, my Grandparents, William James and Margaret Wilson, were buried in 1934 & 1938, - & presumably the 1930's graves would be in the same part??

Or is that not how its done?

I just don't know how they were organised... ???

He's pretty pedantic and if they have a headstone he'll make damn sure he finds it.Hopefully they'll be someone there to ask.

If not he can always go back another time ,his mum lives very near the church. ;D

I'll let you know by PM later on what he finds.......or not!

Hi Carol,

Many Thanks to your friend for looking.

I've emailed the Church Site (& the Vicar) asking for more burial info, & so hopefully will hear more at some stage.

I'm guessing though...that there won't be any headstones :-\

Best Wishes, Romilly.
