Family Search
« on: Friday 02 March 07 23:36 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for my family in Paisley. My dad John Lamont   MacDonald grew up at 12 Ferguslie Park in Paisley. He moved to   Canada when he was 14 or so. He is now 64 and his mothers name was Duncina MacDonald nee Couts and she was married to James Murdoch MacDonald (nickname) Muffti - unsure of spelling. I believe that there are 4 or 5 brothers and sisters - is there any way   you can help or direct me? Thank you so much!!

As the dates are so recent, I'd suggesting going through these folks, to try and get the marriage certificate of his parents.

(once you get further back you can try www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk also)

Also try local sites: http://www.paisley.org.uk/index.php

and consider contacting the local newspaper, maybe putting a short note in the classifieds for anybody who remembers the family:

Hey I know you made this post back in 2007 but I just came across it searching for my side of my dad's family. It's quite possible that your dad John may be my dad's brother.please reply to this post or send me a message

Hi pencity

Welcome to Rootschat  ;D

According to their profile, jillybean hasn't been online here since 2007 but as long as their email address hasn't changed, should receive a notification that you have posted and hopefully come back soon.

If you discover you are related, it might be better to chat off forum via the personal message system where you can also exchange email addresses.

However you both need a slightly higher count of 3 to access the system.

Fingers crossed.

Dawn
